The Ankaria Foundation announces “Ankaria Photo”, the Third International Photography Prize of the XXI Century, open to the participation of visual artists from anywhere in the world, with unpublished photographic projects or developed in the last three years, that will explore new expressive avenues for this language.
The organization of the award emphasizes that it will especially value proposals “that look towards the future, move away from the documentary past of the image as a moment and anticipate new paths to be considered in the age of the Internet, social networks and mnemonics generated with algorithms and Intelligence Artificial”.
In particular, the bases of the award focus on those “conceptualizations that build a visual story based on postphotographic, metaphographic or image analysis or reflection issues.”
To decide the winner, the jury will assess the artist’s career and his projection as a determining factor, as well as his insertion in the discourse of 21st century photography.
