With ‘Expectation and Memory’, the foundation aims to provoke a reflection on Spanish-Moroccan exchanges from the past century. This exhibition wants to establish on a global overlook, the prolonged influences between two related cultures on two opposite continents.
Re-visiting the past decades, from the early twentieth century until today, the exhibit starts out by the old photographies of José Ortiz-Echagüe and Bartolomé Ros, essential to understand the north of Africa on the first half of the past century, and laying down a parallel with other images by contemporary artists, both Spanish and Moroccan.
Miguel Trillo, Juan Manuel Castro Prieto, Lucas Gómez, Manolo Espaliú, Carla Andrade, Francis Tsang, Yasmine Taferssiti, Leila Alaoui, Omar Mahfoudi and Bruno Barbey complete this project that wants to propose a complete and calm reflection on these two similar places, however strangely unknown.
