Digitization of Carlos Pereda Roig Fund

Carlos Pereda Roig (Madrid 1912 – Tánger 1978) was controller of ue properties in the Spanish Protectorate in Morocco. He worked in the Interpretation Service in Morocco until 1934 when joined the Corps civil administration Interventions Old protectorate where he remained until 1956. After a period in Madrid, in 1966, he returns to Tangier as director of the Spanish Tourist Office, where he remained until his death.

During the exercise of his function, he developed cartographic material, anthropological studies and collected works of popular literature of oral tradition. He kept the material carefully organized in his personal archive In 2012, his heirs contacted the library of Juan Goytisolo Instituto Cervantes of Tangier to offer the donation of the works from the work library  containing his personal files and gave the material for public use and exploitation rights documents made for him.

The digitization of this fund composed of 230 documents dated between 1927 and 1956, would allow direct access to the fund and facilitate the use of it and it would improve the services of the institution and ensure the preservation of the material.
