Maria Maria Acha-Kutscher and Cecilia de Val, winners of the Ankaria Photo Award 2024
The jury wanted to highlight the high quality of the proposals submitted, which highlight the quality of contemporary photography, and selected the two winning projects of this year’s edition:
First Prize: María María Acha-Kutscher for the project “Reimagining aging”.
Second Prize: Cecilia de Val for the project “Eternal Network”.
Two projects that explore new expressive avenues of photographic language, looking to the future and with a strong consideration of the weight that the internet, social networks, algorithms and AI have in the times we live in.
New ways of understanding photography that conceptualise a contemporary visual narrative concerned with issues that make this medium a channel for debates about women, the body, today’s society and our imaginary.
