The Chilean artist Carla Mora Ovando, distinguished with the Javier Rosón Prize for her work entitled “Domestic Images”, uses as a metaphor the syllabaries already made and used by the school education system in Chile, and intervenes in the creation of new didactic texts with the same basis as the Hispano-American Syllabus created in 1945 and the Syllabary of the Eye, published in 1884. The artist critiques the phrases that allude to common places associated with the female sex.
The jury for the VIII Edition of the Ankaria Artist Book Award was made up of the president of the Ankaria Foundation, Ricardo Martí Fluxá; by the patrons of the institution Saleta and Javier Rosón, Jaime Mairata and José María Luna, and by Professor Salvador Haro, head of the Painting Area of the University of Malaga and Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts.
